 Career Resources for Veterans

  • Operation VETS – Operation VETS (Veteran, Employment, Transition, Success) is a career-development program designed for Veterans and service members of all majors and class levels. 
  • Student Veteran Career Exploration– View career-related resources to translate your military experience, find veteran jobs, and view a list of the top 100 Veteran-friendly employers.

Alumni Services
New UCR graduates automatically receive a 1-year extension of Career Center services, except for on-campus interviews with employers. After one year, alumni retain access to Handshake, as well as:  

  • One year access to workshops, job fairs, and other events
  • Additional services after one year are available for a fee
  • UCR Alumni Association members receive a 20% discount on all such services

Casie Vu

Casie Vu, Veterans Resource Center Career Specialist

Casie Vu serves as the CHASS Career Specialist serving Social Sciences students. She is new to the UCR Career Center Team having joined the office in August 2022. She hopes to foster her passion for championing students toward their utmost potential in serving as support for the diverse student population of UCR. Casie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Communication from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and her Master of Science Degree in College Counseling & Student Development from Azusa Pacific University.

Vanessa Lee

Vanessa Lee, Graduate Student Career Specialist

Vanessa Lee serves as the Graduate Student Career Specialist and has been with UCR Career Center since 2014. She supports all graduate students in finding their career paths, and collaborates with Industry Outreach Specialists in identifying the best opportunities to serve our graduate student population. With a background in vocational psychology and career development, Vanessa has been working in this field for 10+ years. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota’s (UMN) Psychology Department, and received her BA in psychology at UMN. Vanessa also serves as the Career Center’s International Student Career Specialist.
